The Federal University of Health Sciences in Otukpo, Benue State, has appointed Professor Ediga Bede Agbo as the acting Vice Chancellor, following the suspension of the institution’s pioneer VC, Professor Innocent Ujah. The announcement was made by the university’s Coordinator of Information, Publication, and Public Relations, James Onogwu. Professor Agbo’s appointment was confirmed during a special meeting of the Governing Council presided over by Ohieku Salami, the Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman. The statement mentioned that Professor Ujah was suspended for alleged gross misconduct and willful disregard for the Council’s authority. Professor Ujah declined to provide further details when contacted, stating that the matter would be addressed by the committee handling it.
