Over the weekend, an official from Binance, Mr Tigran Gambaryan, stood by his claim that three Nigerian lawmakers demanded a $150m bribe from him. Gambaryan emphasized the accuracy of his statement, stating that it reflected actual events that occurred in Nigeria.
The lawmakers and the Federal Government have refuted Gambaryan’s allegation. Despite this, Gambaryan reiterated the truth of his claim on social media, asserting that the information he shared was based on personal experiences and discussions with individuals knowledgeable about the situation. He urged for the matter to be handled by law enforcement agencies in both the US and Nigeria.
Gambaryan expressed his desire to move past the ordeal and find peace, mentioning that he no longer holds a position in law enforcement and that the responsibility for further investigation lies with current officials. He highlighted the distress caused to him and his family due to unfounded charges and emphasized his wish to put the situation behind him and focus on the well-being of his loved ones.
