Bobrisky: Reps to probe VeryDarkMan’s allegations against EFCC, NCS

The House of Representatives has decided to launch an investigation into allegations of bribery made against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) by a social media influencer known as VeryDarkMan. This decision came after a motion was presented by a member representing a constituency in Akwa Ibom State.

The concerns raised by the member revolved around serious accusations made by VeryDarkMan against the EFCC and the NCS. These allegations included claims that the EFCC dropped money laundering charges against an individual in exchange for a significant sum of money, and that the individual did not serve their sentence in the NCS as mandated by the court.

The member emphasized the need to address these allegations as they tarnish the reputation of essential law enforcement agencies in Nigeria. The Speaker of the House referred the motion to the relevant committees for further investigation and action, with a deadline of three legislative weeks to report back to the House.
