In a recent Nigeria Premier Football League match, the coach of Bayelsa United expressed disappointment over his team’s lack of efficiency in converting opportunities and criticized the officiating following a goalless draw against Rangers International at home. The team, known as the Restoration Boys, has been struggling in their recent matches and was aiming for a much-needed win to avoid the relegation zone. However, the draw has left them precariously above the drop zone by five points and five places.
This draw marked the fifth time Bayelsa United has drawn at home this season, having also suffered a defeat at home. The coach, Ladan Bosso, questioned the decision of the match officials, particularly a disallowed goal due to an offside call that he believed was incorrect. He emphasized the importance of his players being more clinical in front of goal and making the most of their scoring opportunities.
Despite the disappointing result, Bosso commended his team’s improved performance in the second half, attributing it to coaching strategies. He urged the players to capitalize on their chances early in the game to secure better outcomes. Currently positioned 12th in the league with 29 points, Bayelsa United is looking to bounce back in their upcoming match against Kwara United in Ilorin.
