The late Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, who designed the Nigerian national flag, has posthumously received a N30 million donation from the Federal Government, two years after his passing. The Director General of the National Orientation Agency, along with the Oyo State Director, presented the cheque to the family at the late hero’s residence in Ibadan. Late Akinkunmi passed away on August 29, 2023, at 87 years old. Following his demise, a government delegation led by the Minister of Information and National Orientation visited the family to offer condolences and pledged financial support for a national burial. The N30 million donation was not payment for his services but a gesture of appreciation for his contributions to the country. Akinwunmi Akinkunmi, one of the late designer’s sons, expressed gratitude for the support.
