Council chair hails gov for resolving months-long blackout

The local government chairperson of Epe in Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, expressed delight at the return of electricity to the area after a prolonged period without power.

In a statement released on a Sunday, the chairperson commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Eko Electricity Distribution Company for their efforts in restoring electricity to the community.

During discussions with residents of Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin in Epe division, the chairperson acknowledged Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to resolving the electricity issue and praised EKEDC for its role in the restoration process.

She emphasized, “The EKEDC engineers have successfully restored electricity to the council division, and credit should be given to the state government, Eredo LCDA, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, and Epe LGA for their collective efforts.”

Animashaun urged security agencies like the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Department of State Services to enhance the protection of vital public amenities in the local government areas.

The statement further described the governor’s actions as commendable, highlighting Governor Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to fulfilling promises and ensuring the restoration of electricity following months of outages in the council area.
