Cult clash: Aiyedatiwa declares curfew as mother, baby, ex-youth leader, others killed

In Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area in Ondo State, a clash involving suspected rival cult groups resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals. Among the victims were an unidentified woman and her baby, who were hit by stray bullets. Two others were allegedly shot during the confrontation.

An eyewitness from the community shared that the clash led to hours of sporadic gunshots in different parts of the town. Thankfully, with students away, no additional casualties were reported. The deceased were taken to the Federal Medical Centre morgue in Owo.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlam, verified the incident and mentioned that police officers were dispatched to restore order. She confirmed the death of four individuals but assured that the situation was under control, with efforts in place to apprehend the perpetrators.
