Delta PDP summons gov’s aides after wave of defection

The Delta State chapter of a political party has called for an urgent gathering with the political aides of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori due to a recent surge in defections to another political party. A significant number of party members, including notable figures like Senator Ned Nwoko and former House of Representatives member Nicholas Ossai, have left the party for reasons such as internal conflicts and allegations of the governor’s autocratic behavior. Reports suggest that key supporters of the governor are also contemplating leaving, prompting the party’s leadership to organize the meeting to address the situation. The State PDP chairman has mandated all political aides to the governor to attend the meeting, which is set to take place at the party’s secretariat. The gathering aims to discuss crucial party issues and involves top party officials along with the political aides. Scheduled for noon on a specified date, the meeting is deemed compulsory for various staff members associated with the governor.
