Development journalism key to national security, says CDS

He noted that while the military plays a significant role, 70% of national security efforts rely on socio-economic factors. The importance of development journalism in informing the public, policymakers, and defense officials was highlighted. The Head of Defence Staff emphasized the need for collaboration and dialogue among stakeholders, focusing on people-centered solutions for national interests. He urged journalists to prioritize human security, investigate policy impacts, and promote stakeholder engagement. This approach aims to build trust and cooperation among the military, civil society, and other stakeholders. The National Coordinator of NCTC recognized journalists’ role in shaping public perception and policy on national security matters, praising their expertise and dedication to reporting accurately and fairly.
