In Awka, the capital of Anambra State, 37 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud were apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Enugu Zonal Command. The arrest was made following credible intelligence connecting the suspects to fraudulent online activities. The suspects, all male, were captured in a sting operation at a specific location in Awka. Among the items seized from the suspects were six luxury cars, numerous laptops, and mobile phones suspected to be tools used in their illicit activities. The anti-graft agency reiterated its dedication to combatting cybercrime and emphasized its determination to eliminate criminal activities from society.
