The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information has restated the government’s dedication to enhancing educational access and outcomes to create a better future for upcoming generations.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing free and compulsory education up to Senior Secondary School, along with ensuring the availability of necessary facilities like furniture and modern teaching materials to support the education sector effectively.
In a statement, the commissioner highlighted the objective of improving educational access and outcomes within the state.
He mentioned, “The state government’s various efforts aim to boost school enrollment, support economically disadvantaged students, enhance academic performance, and reduce the number of out-of-school children to a minimum in the state.”
“The ultimate goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, can access quality education without any financial burden.”
The commissioner highlighted the administration’s impact on 203 public secondary schools through infrastructure development, renovations, provision of educational resources, and operational grants to create an optimal learning environment in the state.
He further stated, “The government also extends financial aid to underprivileged and vulnerable students through various initiatives, including Conditional Cash Transfer, to address the issue of out-of-school children and support students with special needs.”
“Apart from infrastructure enhancements, there is a focus on promoting science and technology by acquiring advanced laboratory equipment and ICT tools to equip students for future challenges. As a result, students now have access to modern laboratories and computer systems to enhance their skills in science, technology, and innovation,” the commissioner explained.
