El-Rufai’s wife corrects Shehu Sani’s grammar in social media exchange

The past First Lady of Kaduna State, Hadiza El-Rufai, publicly corrected a former Senator and human rights activist, Shehu Sani, regarding his recent statement.

Sani, who previously represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Assembly, had shared thoughts in a post about President Bola Tinubu’s overseas trip and its impact on the rise in commodity prices.

In his post, he suggested that the President’s foreign travels influence taxes and commodity prices.

“According to the new law of economics; When the President travels abroad, taxes and prices go up,” he wrote.

In response, Mrs. El-Rufai, known for her attention to detail in English language corrections, noticed the post and pointed out an error in Sani’s grammar.

She mentioned that Sani’s post should have used ‘go up’ instead of ‘goes up’.

During their time in office, Governor Nasir El-Rufai and Sani were engaged in a political feud.

There have been claims that their disagreement led to the former lawmaker losing his Senate seat in 2019.

Sani eventually left the All Progressives Congress during their dispute.

He attempted to regain a Senate seat but was defeated by Uba Sani, the current governor of Kaduna and a former ally of El-Rufai.
