The Governor of Rivers State recently left the Government House in Port Harcourt with his family and security team. The departure reportedly took place on a Wednesday morning, as confirmed by a reliable source. Despite the Governor’s exit, security measures at the Government House remain in place, with a few security personnel and Armoured Personnel Carriers stationed outside. The city of Port Harcourt continues its normal activities without disruption. Meanwhile, the appointed Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (retd.), designated by the President to oversee the state for the next six months, had not commenced his duties as of Wednesday afternoon. Preparations for his arrival were observed at the Government House, with soldiers present in anticipation.
