Enyimba sign ex-Super Eagles Ideye as player

Enyimba, the nine-time Nigerian champions, have recently signed Brown Ideye, a Nigeria striker and 2013 AFCON winner, until the end of the 2024/25 season. The club’s Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, confirmed the news, stating that Ideye’s addition will strengthen the team’s attack for both league and continental competitions.

Ideye, 36, had been without a club since departing from Al Yarmouk in 2022. His return to Enyimba marks his comeback to Nigerian football after 17 years, following the footsteps of fellow former international players like Ahmed Musa and Abdullahi Shehu now playing for Kano Pillars.

Enyimba faces two crucial matches in the coming days, a rescheduled NPFL game against Sunshine Stars and a CAF Confederation Cup match against Black Bulls in Maputo, Mozambique.
