A tragic auto accident claimed the life of a former deputy speaker of the Kwara state House of Assembly, Christopher Ayeni. The accident occurred near Igbaja junction, Ajase-ipo in the Irepodun Local Government Area of the state. The accident, attributed to overspeeding and lack of concentration, resulted in injuries to five individuals. Despite initial reports of no fatalities at the scene, Ayeni later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Ayeni, who had political affiliations with both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later the All Progressives Congress (APC), held various roles within the state government and the APC party. The APC Kwara State Chairman expressed deep sorrow over Ayeni’s passing, acknowledging his significant contributions to the state and the party. Similarly, the Chairman of the Ekiti Local Government area of Kwara state mourned Ayeni’s death, praising his dedication as a politician and community leader.
Ayeni’s untimely death leaves a void in the political landscape of Kwara state, as he was known for his commitment and service to the community. The condolences expressed by party members and local government officials reflect the impact of his passing on both a personal and political level.
