A former presidential candidate, Alhaji Yahaya Ndu, has strongly criticized the economic policies of the current President, describing them as detrimental to Nigeria’s economy and pushing many into extreme poverty.
In an interview, Ndu expressed concerns about the impact of these policies and criticized the leadership style of the President, labeling it as a “civilian dictatorship.”
He emphasized the importance of active citizen engagement in democracy and highlighted the disconnect between the government and the people, pointing out that the votes received by top politicians did not represent a significant portion of the population.
Ndu raised questions about the President’s handling of the country’s challenges, suggesting that solutions should have been implemented earlier and emphasizing the need for a collective responsibility within the ruling party.
He expressed disappointment in the decision to remove fuel subsidies, stating that it was poorly executed and suggesting alternative approaches to address the issue.
Ndu called for a mass participatory approach to tackle Nigeria’s problems, involving professionals from various sectors to collaborate on solutions for the country’s advancement.
He stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among Nigerians to move the country forward, highlighting the potential for progress through collective effort and inclusive decision-making.
