A 30-year-old former prison officer at HMP Wandsworth has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for engaging in sexual activity with an inmate. The officer, Linda De Sousa Abreu, was identified by senior prison staff after an explicit video surfaced online. She was apprehended at Heathrow Airport while trying to board a flight to Madrid with her father. Abreu had pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office and also confessed to having sexual relations with the same inmate on another occasion. Another recording of her engaging in a sexual act with the prisoner was found on her body-worn camera.
