Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has recently completed various infrastructure projects in the Okpoko community of Ogbaru Local Government Area in Anambra State. These projects, including the construction of roads like the Mgbuka-Amazu-Emekekwe Road and Union Street-Ojoto Street Junction-Adazi Ani Street, aim to improve the residents’ quality of life by enhancing transportation, economic activities, and security in the area.
The newly constructed roads add up to a total of 15.62 kilometers in Okpoko, with additional ongoing construction work on a 3.467-kilometer road. This will result in a total of 19.9 kilometers of tarred roads connecting various parts of the once urban slum community.
Residents have expressed their appreciation for the infrastructure developments, which also include street lights, pipe-borne water installations, and the establishment of a general hospital. These improvements have not only facilitated convenience for the residents but have also positively impacted economic and social aspects of the community.
During a visit to the community, Governor Soludo reiterated his commitment to further enhancing infrastructure facilities in Okpoko. He highlighted the transformation that has taken place in the area, emphasizing the importance of providing essential services like water supply, healthcare, and improved road networks for the residents.
