FCT doctors call off three-day warning strike

The Resident Doctors Association in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has officially ended its three-day warning strike following the intervention of a government official. The association had embarked on the strike to push for their demands but called it off after most of their requests were met. The President of the Association announced that the government had addressed issues such as salary arrears, allowances, training funds, employment of healthcare workers, and payment of outstanding dues.

The association expressed gratitude towards the official for swiftly resolving the matter and urged for further attention to their remaining demands to prevent future strike actions. They confirmed the return to work of doctors and healthcare workers as per the official’s directives and expressed hope for the fulfillment of outstanding requests, including hazard allowances, facility upgrades, and professional advancement.

The association also pledged ongoing support for the government’s agenda.
