The FCT Police Command has apprehended a well-known gang leader, Abubakar Idris, alias Nishi, and his associates for the murder of Ibrahim Danfulani in connection to a disagreement over a proposed marriage. The incident occurred on November 27, 2024, when Nishi, displeased with Ibrahim’s intention to marry a woman he had invested in financially, along with two others, attacked Ibrahim with knives, resulting in his death.
It was discovered that the gang also stole 18 cows from the victim as reparation for Nishi’s perceived financial losses. Following the crime, Nishi fled but was later captured in Nasarawa State while planning to recruit new members to carry out further harm. The FCT Police Command, with the help of the Agaita community in Karu, successfully arrested all suspects, who are now in police custody awaiting prosecution.
The police assured the public of their dedication to protecting lives and property, encouraging residents to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency contact lines.
