FG raises teams to avert ASUU strike

The Ministry of Education is actively taking measures to prevent a potential strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities. A spokesperson from the ministry emphasized ongoing efforts to avert the strike during an interview in Abuja. ASUU had issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to address various issues, including the renegotiation of agreements and payment of withheld salaries. The union is also advocating for funding for university revitalization and resolution of governance-related matters. ASUU’s president expressed disappointment with the government’s approach and warned of potential industrial action if the issues are not promptly resolved.
