FG to domesticate women economic empowerment policy

The government recently revealed its intention to adopt the National Women’s Economic Empowerment Policy, which was introduced in 2023. This policy is aimed at boosting the financial resilience and self-reliance of women in Nigeria. During the 59th Anniversary of the Naval Officers’ Wives Association, the Minister of Women Affairs highlighted the government’s dedication to empowering women. The minister emphasized the crucial role women play in the country’s progress and stressed the importance of creating opportunities for women in alignment with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The focus on economic empowerment is a key aspect of this agenda, as it not only enhances women’s financial independence but also strengthens their ability to contribute to the nation’s development. The administration plans to localize the National Women’s Economic Empowerment Policy to ensure that women across all sectors have meaningful opportunities. The magazine ‘The Sailor’s Wife’ was also celebrated during the event for providing insight into the lives and aspirations of the naval community, offering valuable advice on family life, health, education, and personal growth.
