A popular toothpaste brand, in collaboration with the Nigeria Dental Association, emphasized the importance of brushing teeth twice daily to prevent tooth diseases in children. The brand’s representative highlighted the initiative during a conference announcing the upcoming World Oral Health Day celebration. The campaign, titled “Talk to A Dentist,” aims to educate three million Nigerians this year on good oral hygiene practices, with a focus on ensuring children brush their teeth for at least two minutes both in the morning and at night.
The brand is dedicated to promoting behavioral change by making twice-daily brushing a universal habit. Good oral health is considered a basic human right for all individuals, regardless of their background. The initiative aims to expand educational programs to reach more pupils and conduct dental camps in various regions across Nigeria.
The company’s goal is to eradicate oral diseases by increasing awareness and access to dental care globally. Various programs and partnerships have been initiated to achieve this, with a focus on preventive measures and education, especially among children. The efforts have already impacted a significant number of Nigerians and are set to reach even more individuals in the coming years.
The President of the Nigerian Dental Association commended the brand for its ongoing efforts to promote oral hygiene in the country. He highlighted the link between oral health and mental well-being, emphasizing the need for improved access to oral healthcare and increased awareness to reduce the burden of oral diseases in Nigeria.
The Federal Ministry of Health acknowledged the importance of integrating oral health into primary healthcare and praised the partnership between the brand and public entities to achieve common health goals. The collaborative efforts aim to create a healthier Nigeria where every citizen has access to quality oral healthcare and education.
