Tragedy struck as a boat capsized along Bennett Island River in the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, resulting in five confirmed fatalities with one person still missing. The incident took place on Monday night and was reported by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, in Asaba on Tuesday. According to Edafe, five individuals lost their lives, six sustained injuries, and are currently receiving medical attention. Nineteen people were rescued, but one person remains unaccounted for.
