Followers dumping Kwankwaso, APC will reclaim Kano – Ganduje

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed optimism in the party’s ability to regain control of Kano State from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). Ganduje believes that the influence of NNPP leader Rabiu Kwankwaso is diminishing.

Addressing attendees at the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum dinner, Ganduje, represented by Kano State APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas, mentioned that many of Kwankwaso’s followers are turning away from him due to dissatisfaction with his leadership.

Ganduje predicted that the NNPP would not be able to replicate its 2023 electoral success in the upcoming 2027 elections. He also questioned Kwankwaso’s claim of having people’s support, attributing his past victories to internal issues within the APC.

Emphasizing the importance of unity among APC members, Ganduje stated that unity is crucial for the party to regain power in the state.

The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, echoed the call for unity within the APC. Ata expressed confidence in the party’s future prospects in Kano and criticized the current NNPP administration for its governance of the state.

Ata also praised President Bola Tinubu for his initiatives in Kano State, such as the allocation of 500 housing units compared to 250 in other states.

The chairman of the forum, Abdul’azeez Gafasa, highlighted the forum’s dedication to unity and acknowledged the efforts of past APC leaders in fostering harmony within the party.

Efforts to reach Kano NNPP Chairman, Alhaji Hashim Dungurawa, for comments were unsuccessful as he did not respond to repeated calls.
