In a press statement released on Wednesday, the state Sector Public Education Officer, FRSC, Margaret Onabe, said the command has also placed emergency response teams on standby to handle any reported incidents.

Onabe added that some towing trucks, patrol vehicles, motorbikes, and ambulances have been stationed at strategic locations in case of emergencies and obstructions.

She urged drivers to prioritise road safety, obey traffic rules, and exercise caution on the roads, especially during the period of increased traffic.

“The command appeals to passengers to take responsibility for their safety by wearing seat belts, avoiding overloading, and reporting reckless driving to authorities. We urge all road users to make safety a priority and arrive at their destinations safely. Let’s make this Easter a memorable one, not for crashes, but for safe travels and joyful celebrations.

Easter is a Christian religious holiday, also known as a feast day, that celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible.

It is considered the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church. Easter is preceded by the season of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer and penance.
