Fulfill electoral promises, Oba of Benin tells Okpebholo

The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, advised the governor-elect of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to fulfill the promises he made during his election campaign to the people of the state.

Oba Ewuare II offered this counsel during a visit by Okpebholo and the deputy governor-elect, Dennis Idahosa, to his palace in Benin City to present their Certificates of Return.

The traditional ruler expressed confidence in the governor-elect’s capability to provide effective governance. He expressed gratitude to God, his ancestors, security agencies, and others for the peaceful and successful election held on September 21.

He remarked, “God works in mysterious ways. As you have promised me, remember that this palace is always open to you.

“By fulfilling the pledges you made during your campaign, you will attract more blessings.”

The Oba also mentioned his continuous prayers leading up to the upcoming Emoro festival and his eighth coronation anniversary.

In response, Okpebholo expressed gratitude for the Oba’s prayers and pledged to work diligently with his deputy to uphold their commitments to the people.
