Genk rule out Arokodare Jan exit

KRC Genk Head of Football Dimitri De Condé has confirmed that the club will not be parting ways with any of their key players, including Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare, during the upcoming January transfer window.

Arokodare has recently been linked with Fulham, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window.

Despite having Raúl Jiménez and Rodrigo Muniz in their squad, Fulham is reportedly interested in adding another striker, with Arokodare being a target.

Genk signed Arokodare from Amiens in January 2023 following the departure of Paul Onuachu to Southampton.

After overcoming initial injury setbacks, Arokodare played a crucial role in helping Genk advance to the Jupiler Pro League play-offs last season, scoring 12 goals.

This season, the 24-year-old has been in excellent form, scoring nine goals in 15 games in the Belgian top-flight, attracting interest from clubs like Fulham.

De Condé stated in an interview with TVL Sportcafé via voetbalnieuws that Genk is determined to retain Arokodare and he will not be leaving the club in January.

“Tolu is an important player for us and will not be allowed to depart. He is committed to Genk and our coach,” De Condé mentioned.

Arokodare is currently one goal behind Kasper Dolberg, the top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League with 10 goals for RSC Anderlecht.
