In Plateau State, a tragic incident occurred where four young individuals lost their lives during an attack by gunmen in Bokkos Local Government Areas. The victims were working at a mining site in the Batura community when the gunmen struck around 9 pm, resulting in the death of four persons and injuring five others before fleeing the scene.
The President of the Butura Youth Movement confirmed the killings, identifying the victims as Bwefuk Musa, Klingshak Dickson, Promise Joshua, and Nyam Abaka. The attack, carried out by armed terrorists speaking the Fulani dialect, was described as unprovoked and devastating by eyewitnesses.
This unfortunate event adds to a series of unprovoked attacks on the community, with over 20 members losing their lives in the past month alone, all attributed to identified Fulani assailants. Efforts to reach out to the relevant authorities for comments on the incident were unsuccessful as their phone lines were unresponsive.
