The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is set to commence the distribution of travel materials for intending Hajj pilgrims during an upcoming orientation exercise in Abuja. The distribution will take place at the permanent hajj camp, Bassan Jiwa, near the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport over the weekend.
The board has arranged for the provision of necessary items to help pilgrims prepare for the spiritual journey. These materials include uniforms, literature, and audio resources to aid in learning about Hajj rites, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
Activities for the pilgrims will be paused during Ramadan to allow them to fully engage in the observance of the month. Once Ramadan concludes, preparations for the hajj will resume to ensure that pilgrims are well-equipped for their journey to Saudi Arabia.
The board aims to provide pilgrims with essential knowledge about performing Hajj, ensuring that they derive maximum benefit from this religious obligation. The orientation exercise will be conducted in seven languages by Islamic scholars to cater to the diverse FCT community.
Intending pilgrims are reminded to submit their completed application forms and international passports promptly to facilitate the processing of their travel documents before their departure to Saudi Arabia.
