I won’t sign upcoming artiste, they’re too stressful – Tiwa Savage

A Nigerian artist, known for her singing, songwriting, and acting, recently shared in an interview that she does not intend to take on new talents under her wing.

During the conversation with Forbes Africa, she expressed that managing artists can be quite demanding and stressful. She feels that she may not be the best fit for handling the responsibilities that come with managing artists, as they can be quite challenging and overwhelming.

She mentioned, “People often ask me when I will start signing artists. I don’t think I have the knack for managing artists, as they can be quite a handful. I could be resting, and suddenly wake up to find my artist making headlines for something unexpected.”

She shared her preference for creating opportunities for aspiring artists through different avenues rather than signing them directly.

She is currently working on the establishment of a music school where emerging musicians can develop their skills before potentially seeking support from a record label.

“I believe my gift lies in offering help, which is why I am focusing on setting up a music school. Here, individuals can receive guidance and later choose to sign with a label that can provide the necessary assistance,” she explained.
