Ibas inspects Rivers assembly complex, orders timely completion

The current administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas (retd), has encouraged the contractor responsible for the construction of the state House of Assembly Complex to expedite the project’s progress and complete it according to the agreed timeline. Ibas stressed that a key part of his responsibility is to restore the full functioning of legislative activities within the state.

During a recent inspection of the construction site at the Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt Local Government Area, Ibas expressed the need for swift completion. The project, managed by Monier Construction Company Limited, involves the construction of a two-storey building with various facilities such as en-suite offices, an elevator, gallery, meeting rooms, and a conference hall.

Accompanied by Dr. George Nwaeke, the Head of Rivers State Civil Service, Ibas was given a tour of the site by the General Manager of MCC, Omaka Oko. He highlighted the importance of providing a conducive workspace for effective legislative operations within the state’s governance structure.

Vice Admiral Ibas (retd.) emphasized the significance of timely completion and adherence to the project schedule by the contractor. He reiterated that his primary goal is to ensure law and order are maintained to facilitate the state’s return to normalcy.
