At an event in Lagos, the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced budget in Nigeria. The country’s budget deficit for the 2025 Appropriation Bill has raised concerns about fiscal sustainability.
During the event, the President commended the Ojo, Badagry, and Agbara District Society of ICAN for their achievements and contributions. He mentioned that ICAN supports the government by providing manpower, capacity building for civil servants, and advocating for a balanced budget.
The President also praised the district for its efforts in promoting the accounting profession and community development. He highlighted the district’s plans to build a secretariat and encouraged members to support this initiative.
The OBA District Chairman reflected on the district society’s growth and service over the past decade. He emphasized the commitment to upholding professional standards and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
The 57th ICAN President congratulated the district society for its progress and urged them to continue on their path of success. Additionally, the ICAN-OBA District Society recognized five members for their exemplary leadership during the event.
