The call for urgent action to combat the increasing involvement of juveniles in criminal activities in the country has been emphasized by the Inspector-General of Police. The IG stressed the devastating impact of juvenile crimes on communities nationwide. Addressing the root cause of the issue, which is believed to originate from family dynamics, was highlighted as crucial during the inauguration of the steering committee in Abuja. The IG’s recognition of the need for a comprehensive strategy to tackle juvenile delinquency underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between stakeholders. The partnership between the Centre for Family Peace, an NGO, and the Nigeria Police Force aims to address this pressing national concern and guide young individuals away from criminal behavior. The initiative, spearheaded by the Centre for Family Peace, aims to tackle the challenges of juvenile crime by focusing on family involvement in upbringing as a key factor. The project’s scope will extend to all 36 states in the country.
