The candidate running for governorship under the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, has reassured voters that he intends to govern independently and not be beholden to any political godfathers. He emphasized this commitment during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today. With the upcoming election scheduled for September 21, Ighodalo, who was brought up to make his own decisions, pledged to seek advice and consultation from a wide range of sources to ensure good governance for the people of Edo State. Despite facing challenges to his candidacy, a recent Court of Appeal ruling dismissed an appeal by a PDP aspirant seeking to invalidate Ighodalo’s candidacy following the primary election.
