Labour Party’s potential presidential candidate for the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has emphasized that he is not showing any signs of desperation for preferential treatment or a ‘free pass’ as the party gears up for the 2027 election.
In response to recent speculations and conflicting statements within the party regarding his potential candidacy, Obi’s media aide clarified that the party’s leadership has not witnessed any behavior from Obi seeking special treatment.
Despite differing announcements from within the party, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party debunked the claims of fielding Obi in the upcoming election.
Addressing concerns about the ‘no automatic ticket’ threat made by a party faction, Obi’s aide reaffirmed his commitment to democratic values and fair competition. Obi’s stance remains centered on advocating for a level playing field where all candidates can compete equitably.
Encouraging supporters and the public to focus on substantial issues, Obi’s camp stresses the importance of democracy, fairness, and equality in shaping Nigeria’s future. His dedication to good governance, economic progress, and social justice continues to guide his decisions, aiming to lead Nigeria towards prosperity and success.
