Intervention projects: Army not competing with Nigerian govt – COAS

The Chief of Army Staff recently inaugurated various projects under the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects in Umuahia, Abia State. The initiative aims to support communities where Nigerian Army senior officers, particularly those of Major General rank, are located.

These projects, totaling over 200 across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, are designed to complement government efforts and enhance the quality of life for citizens. They include water works, a community hospital, a community hall, and a transformer.

The Army emphasizes collaboration with communities to ensure project success and community ownership. The goal is to contribute to the nation’s security challenges through both kinetic and non-kinetic efforts.

The projects were acknowledged by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, highlighting their significance in addressing security challenges and fostering a positive relationship between the Army and citizens.

Local officials, including the Governor of Abia State, praised the Army’s contributions to socio-infrastructural development, emphasizing the importance of civil-military collaboration for community progress.
