IPI Nigeria re-elects Mojeed, Shekarau as president, secretary

The Editor-in-Chief of a renowned media organization has been re-elected as President of the Nigerian chapter of the International Press Institute. Alongside, the Chief Executive Officer of another media group was also reelected as Secretary.

The re-elected officials, along with four other executives, were sworn in for another term of three years at the organization’s annual general meeting in Abuja. The newly elected executive committee members include individuals from various media outlets, taking up different roles within the organization.

In his inauguration speech, the re-elected President promised an administration that embraces inclusivity and urged members to support the vision of enhancing the media landscape in Nigeria.

The event also saw the presence of a former governor who praised the leadership of the organization for their successful conference.

During the conference, discussions on press freedom were held by notable figures in the media industry, including the Minister of Information and National Orientation and a keynote speaker.

The International Press Institute, headquartered in Vienna, Austria, serves as a global network connecting media professionals from around the world.
