Israel strike kills another Hamas commander, wife, two daughters

In a recent event, it was reported that a Palestinian militant identified as a commander from Hamas was killed in north Lebanon during an Israeli strike. This strike, which occurred in a refugee camp, marked the first incident in that region since the beginning of the Gaza conflict. The Hamas figure, along with his family, tragically lost their lives in the bombardment of their residence in the Beddawi camp near Tripoli.

Over the past year, Israel has targeted several Hamas officials in Lebanon, leading to casualties within the group. Notably, Hamas has confirmed the deaths of multiple militants in Lebanon due to such attacks. The recent airstrike also claimed the life of the Hamas leader in Lebanon, Fatah Sharif Abu al-Amine, at his residence in the Al-Bass camp in the southern part of the country.

Previous incidents include an Israeli strike in Sidon that resulted in the demise of Hamas commander Samer al-Hajj and another strike in south Beirut that took the life of Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Aruri and six other militants. These actions have heightened tensions in Lebanon, especially within the Palestinian refugee camps established after the 1948 war.

It is worth noting that the Lebanese army typically does not intervene in these camps, allowing Palestinian factions to manage security internally. This situation underscores the complexities and historical context of the region’s dynamics.
