The Operation Delta Safe Joint Task Force recently paraded two suspects involved in producing counterfeit documents to aid in the sale of stolen crude oil in the Niger Delta region. Commander John Okeke disclosed that Magaji Musa and Umar Musa were apprehended during a raid on their residence in Port Harcourt. The syndicate was known for creating fake documents to facilitate illegal oil activities in the area, enabling oil thieves to operate without detection. The suspects were found with forged documents like association stamps, waybills, and fake ID cards, confessing to various illegal activities related to stolen crude oil. They are currently in custody and will face prosecution. Okeke emphasized the JTF’s dedication to combating criminal activities in the region, including illegal oil refining and vandalism of oil facilities. Musa, the syndicate’s leader, admitted to being involved in the stolen crude oil trade since 2011.
