Judges gave Usyk Christmas gift – Fury

In a contentious rematch against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury contested the judges’ decision, claiming they had unfairly awarded a “Christmas gift” to his opponent. Despite Fury and his promoter Frank Warren insisting that Fury had done enough to win the match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, all three judges scored the fight 116-112 in Usyk’s favor, marking his second consecutive victory over Fury.

Fury expressed his disappointment, stating that he believed he had won both fights and that the judges’ decision was unjust. Warren echoed this sentiment, expressing frustration with the scoring and highlighting Fury’s strengths during the match.

Following the defeat, Fury chose not to answer questions in the ring, instead speaking to the media backstage. Despite feeling hard done by, Fury acknowledged that the bout was over and that he would not dwell on the result.

Usyk’s victory extended his flawless record to 23 wins, solidifying his position as one of the top boxers of this era. Usyk graciously accepted Fury’s comments about the “Christmas gift” and thanked his team for their support.
