Nollywood actress and producer, Adanma Luke, recently expressed her deep regret and asked for forgiveness from the public regarding the unfortunate boat accident that claimed the lives of actor John Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, and four others. In a heartfelt video posted on her Instagram account, Luke, the producer of the movie “The Other Side of Life,” where the tragic incident occurred, shared her struggles with depression following the event.
Luke acknowledged the criticisms she faced online and apologized to Nigerians for the pain caused. She revealed her ongoing battle with depression, hindering her ability to work or seek job opportunities. Luke emphasized her sorrow and the challenges she has been facing since the incident, mentioning the financial strain of supporting the families affected by the tragedy.
The actress disclosed her lack of knowledge about depression before the accident and expressed her regret and difficulties in moving forward. She also touched on the circumstances surrounding the accident, mentioning her concerns about safety measures like life jackets and the location chosen for filming. Despite her efforts to ensure a safe environment for the movie production, the tragic outcome deeply affected her.
In response to the incident, the Actors Guild of Nigeria reportedly placed a temporary restriction on actors participating in any of Luke’s productions. Luke’s emotional plea for forgiveness and her candid revelations about the aftermath of the accident have sparked sympathy and understanding among the public.
