In the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers match, Nigeria’s Super Eagles faced off against Rwanda’s Amavubi and ended with a goalless draw. The Super Eagles, led by Austin Eguavoen, were unable to secure a win despite their efforts against the Rwandan goalkeeper, Ntwari, who put up a strong defense.
Eguavoen made a tactical change in the lineup, starting Fisayo Dele-Basiru in place of Alex Iwobi. Victor Boniface led the attack, with Victor Osimhen as a substitute. Osimhen had a close chance hitting the post with a clever move, while Ademola Lookman’s goal was disallowed due to a foul.
In the second half, Eguavoen brought in Osimhen and Moses Simon to bolster the team’s offense, but Rwanda’s defense remained resolute. Ntwari’s exceptional goalkeeping skills denied Nigeria several scoring opportunities, including a last-minute save from Osimhen.
Despite the draw, the Super Eagles maintain the top spot in Group D with four points, while Rwanda follows closely with two points. Nigeria’s next qualifier will be against Libya in October.
