The latest achievement in education from Kaduna State Government reveals that more than two-thirds of students achieved five credits and above in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, a significant increase from the previous year. This announcement was made during a summit organized by the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority focusing on ‘Quality Assurance in Education: A Summit for Best Practices.’
The State’s Commissioner of Education emphasized that this improvement is a testament to the educational objectives of the current administration to enhance education quality and improve learning outcomes. The state is dedicated to not only expanding access to education but also ensuring that students graduate with exceptional results, striving to elevate the educational standards continuously.
The commissioner expressed optimism that Kaduna’s educational system is on track to becoming a leader in education delivery in Nigeria. He encouraged other organizations to emulate the Quality Assurance Authority’s strategies in upholding high educational standards.
The Director General of the Quality Assurance Authority highlighted the measures taken to enhance educational standards in both public and private schools, emphasizing that private schools must adhere to quality assurance regulations and provide value for their fees.
Under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, Kaduna State has seen a notable improvement in WAEC results and national ranking. Innovations such as fortified certificates with QR codes to prevent fraud and the integration of technology like computer systems have been introduced to enrich the learning experience.
Despite previous challenges with insecurity affecting school enrollment, recent security enhancements have led to an increase in primary school enrollment, reaching nearly 1.8 million students, up from 1.7 million the previous year.
