Kano gov approves N8.2bn for 15 development projects

The Kano State Executive Council has approved N8.2 billion for the implementation of 15 significant projects in the state. The approval was made known by the spokesperson for Governor Abba Yusuf, Sanusi Tofa, following a State Executive Council meeting. Among the funded projects are the construction of classroom blocks in all 44 local government areas, a cost review for road dualisation projects, remodelling of Africa House Conference Hall, fuel supply, settling of liabilities, payment to foodstuff suppliers, printing of security documents, establishment of a Model Village, provision of solar-powered streetlights, procurement of motorcycles, and development of a mini-irrigation scheme. Additionally, the council has tasked the Ministry of Environment to ensure the successful implementation of the state’s Climate Change Policy and has formed a Project Monitoring Committee to oversee project execution. The committee will be led by the Commissioner for Project Monitoring, with other key commissioners as members.
