Kano gov, Kwankwaso absent as Major emerges NNPP national chairman

The New Nigeria Peoples Party held a convention where Dr. Agbo Major was elected as the new National Chairman. Some prominent party members like Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and former presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso were not present at the event. Efforts to contact them were unsuccessful. The convention also saw the election of other key party officials such as the National Secretary, Deputy National Chairmen for South and North, National Treasurer, and National Publicity Secretary, among others.

The convention was attended by party members, including the Board of Trustees and elected office holders nationwide. This event followed a court judgment directing the party to restructure and recognize the new leadership. The party’s founder, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, expressed the importance of the convention in repositioning the party according to the court’s directives.

The party’s focus remains on providing credible leadership and governance for the people of Nigeria. The newly elected executives were urged to lead with diligence, integrity, and dedication to strengthen the party. The new National Chairman called on all members to come together and contribute to the party’s growth and development, emphasizing the need for unity and hard work towards a successful future for the party.
