Kano gov unveils new security outfit, other initiatives

The Governor of Kano State has introduced a new security initiative called the “Neighborhood Watch” to improve safety within the state. Additionally, he has approved two new laws focusing on transportation and public health. These laws include amendments to the Kano State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Law, the establishment of the Kano State Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Law, and the implementation of the Kano State Security Neighborhood Watch Law, all enacted in 2025.

This announcement was made by the Director-General of Media and Publicity from the Government House in Kano. The Governor signed the bills during the 25th Kano State Executive Council meeting, emphasizing his administration’s dedication to providing benefits of democracy and fostering socioeconomic progress within the state.

Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for the support from Kano residents and urged them to stay committed to the government’s objectives.
