Kebbi pays March salaries early for Eid celebrations

The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has approved the immediate payment of March salaries to all state government workers to enable them prepare for the forthcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The state government disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X handle on Monday.

According to the statement, the decision was taken to allow civil servants and other government employees to make adequate preparations ahead of the festive period marking the end of Ramadan.

“The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has approved the immediate payment of March 2026 salaries to all state government workers.

“This decision was taken to enable civil servants and other government employees to make proper preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations,” the statement read.

The early release comes as many Nigerian states adopt similar measures to ease financial burdens on public sector employees.

Other states that had announced similar measures include Zamfara, Kano and Kogi states.
