Kogi CP presents N47.6m cheques to families of fallen officers

The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State recently distributed cheques totaling N48,681,738.48 to the families of 22 deceased officers as part of group life assurance policies. This presentation, which occurred on September 3, 2024, aimed to support families of officers who passed away while on duty and those injured during official tasks. The gesture is part of welfare initiatives to assist the families of fallen officers and provide support to injured officers, encouraging diligence among those still in service.

The Commissioner, representing the Inspector General of Police, conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased officers, recognizing the sacrifices made by these heroes. The commitment to enhancing the welfare of all officers, whether currently serving, retired, or deceased, was reiterated.

In addition, the Commissioner advised accident victims to focus on their recovery, while urging families of deceased officers to utilize the funds to improve their living conditions. Recipients of the funds expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for the support and pledged to use the money responsibly.
