Kogi LG Poll: APC wins 21 chairmanship seats, 239 councillorship positions

The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission has announced the victory of All Progressives Congress candidates in all 21 local government chairmanship seats and 239 councillorship positions following the election conducted on Saturday.

The Chairman of KOSIEC, Mr. Mamman Nda-Eri, declared the election as peaceful, free, fair, and credible during the announcement of the results in Lokoja. Notably, a female candidate emerged victorious in the chairmanship position for Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area.

Expressing satisfaction with the election process, Nda-Eri highlighted the exceptional performance of the APC, securing a clean sweep across all positions, surpassing the other 18 participating political parties.

The results were initially declared at the collation centers by Returning Officers before being confirmed by the KOSIEC Chairman. Nda-Eri expressed gratitude to electoral officials, security agencies, observers, and journalists for their roles in ensuring the success of the election.
